A pickup truck sideswiped a school bus Friday morning at the crest of a gravel-road hill north of Coon Rapids and kept driving.

The truck’s driver has not yet been identified, Coon Rapids Police Chief Andy Klein said. No one on the bus was injured.

The Coon Rapids-Bayard bus was eastbound on 290th Street near Apple Avenue when it met the oncoming truck about 7:25 a.m.

The bus driver was running a normal morning route and had picked up one student when the bus went over a hill and collided with the truck.

“The truck didn’t yield or pull far enough to the right,” Klein said.

The bus — which had an estimated $3,000 worth of damage — continued on its route.

The collision apparently damaged a side mirror, mud flap and tire of the truck. It is a 1999 to 2006 dark blue or black Chevrolet Silverado.

Those with information about the truck or its driver can call the Coon Rapids Police Department at (712) 999-5244 or the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at (712) 792-4393.
