Carroll-area TV viewers will now have more access to Chicago-area pro sports and Iowa high school sports.
Western Iowa Networks has entered into a multi-year agreement with Comcast SportsNet Chicago, which started Jan. 1, according to a news release.
WIN customers subscribing to either the expanded or supreme TV packages can access the Comcast SportsNet Chicago network in standard definition on channel 130 and in high definition on channel 330. CSN+ also will be available in standard definition on channel 131.
The change will affect WIN subscribers in Carroll, Breda, Westside and Lidderdale, according to the release.
“I am very excited for this addition to the WIN lineup as some of the programming could, and hopefully will, directly affect people right here in the communities we serve,” Western Iowa Marketing Manager Wes Treadway said in the release.
CSN’s sports programming includes Cubs and White Sox baseball, Bulls basketball and Blackhawks hockey games, according to the release. CSN also shows Iowa high school state tournaments, including basketball, football and wrestling, through an agreement with the Iowa High School Sports Network.
“We are always very supportive of our area schools, and for our customers to be able to watch their local boys teams in the state tournament, live in high definition, is something that we are proud to offer,” Treadway said. “That was really the driving force in us adding CSN to our lineup. The fact that we have quite a few Cubs, White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks fans in the area is just an added bonus.”
