The Warren H. Timmerman Charitable Trust has awarded grants totaling $130,155 to 11 recipients in the 2017 cycle, according to Iowa Savings Bank, the trustee.

Forty grant applications were submitted.

Recipients are:

— Arcadia Betterment Development Corporation, handicap-accessible restrooms, $8,250.

— City of Carroll, all-inclusive, handicap-accessible playground in Graham Park, $5,000.

— City of Dedham, replace firefighter air packs, $23,400.

— City of Glidden, upgrade pool shelter facilities, $2,000.

— Halbur Firefighters Association Inc., new firefighting gear, $15,000.

— City of Manning, rapid-flashing signs/radar speed signs, $16,000.

— Manning Betterment Foundation, resurface tennis courts to make them multipurpose, $25,000.

— Manning Betterment Foundation, update VFW entrance to handicap-accessible, $8,800.

— Manning Community Services, Senior Center restrooms ADA-compliant, $10,000.

— Manning Fire and Rescue, replace and add air bags, $6,000.

— City of Templeton, two outdoor weather warning signals, $10,685.

The Timmerman Trust awards grants for use in the immediate Manning area or for use in Carroll County. The Trust has now distributed $1,670,802 for charitable purposes since its creation by Warren H. Timmerman.
