Electric drills, construction lifts and the sounds of sawing have taken up temporary residence at Central Church.

As part of several potential expansion plans, the church now is adding on to its entryway.

“Right now, we see our double foyer area as a cattle gate,” Central’s pastor Ryan Gallegos said. “People just go in and out and have no room to talk. This will open it up with more space for connection — people will have a place to hang out and talk.”

Although the church is working with contractors for necessary portions of the project, much of the work has been completed by volunteers.

With its membership continuing to grow, now closing in on 400, Central Church is also looking at other construction possibilities, including an expanded sanctuary.
