The Carroll City Council Monday night approved a $670,449 schedule of 2013 street improvements expected to be complete by Nov. 15.

The plans include full-depth patching, curb-and-gutter and storm-sewer work, as well as work related to right-of-way connections with driveways and sidewalks and other associated construction.

The project will involve the following sections of Carroll's streets system: Hidden Valley Drive from Pleasant Ridge Road to Timberline Road; Ridgewood Drive from Westgate Road to Southgate Road; Arthur Neu Drive from Southgate Road to the cul-de-sac; Maple Street from Bluff Street to First Street; and Walnut Street from First Street to Second Street.

JEO Consulting Group of Carroll prepared the specifications for the project. Bids will be received later this week with the contract scheduled for award on March 11.

Construction cost is estimated at $602,149 with design work at $68,300, according to City Public Works Director Randy Krauel.
