Students at the St. Angela Center of Kuemper Catholic Schools are working on painting ceiling tiles to hang in the art room on the third floor.
Fifth-grader Bethany Schleisman said it’s been hard work because groups of about five had to work together to diagram their designs on paper before transferring it to a larger format on the ceiling tiles.
She said it took a lot of time to do.
Fifth-grader Jacey Loew said she was learning math and other skills while trying to complete the project.
The two students were working together on a flower painting.
The students have been working on the project for several weeks.
St. Angela art teacher Sarah Davis said the students don’t get to do large projects like this one very often.
She said it’s been a treat for them
Davis said the tiles currently decorating the art room’s ceiling were painted by the Class of 2013.
She said the next project the students will tackle is writing biographies of various artists.
