Two Burger King employees are accused of going to the restaurant last month while off-the-clock to make a bevy of food for themselves and then refusing to pay for it, court records show.

Keshaun Renee Ward, 23, and Keyera Jenae Wilson, 22, both of Carroll, allegedly went into the restaurant’s kitchen at 915 U.S. Highway 30 West and cooked four Whopper sandwiches, a chicken sandwich, chicken fries, chicken nuggets and fries on March 25.

The Whopper is the restaurant’s signature sandwich, with “savory, flame-grilled beef topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise” and others, according to Burger King’s website.

The total cost of the food was about $30.

“They were given a chance to come back and pay for it but declined,” according to a criminal complaint filed in district court on Monday.

Ward and Wilson were charged with misdemeanor theft, punishable by up to 30 days in jail.
