A 35-year-old man kicked open the front door of his ex-wife’s house in Manning on Saturday morning and broke furniture, mirrors, electronics and other items, according to court records.

“There was a foot imprint on the door to prove it,” says a police officer’s criminal complaint against Anthony John Bruns.

Bruns’ wife divorced him in February 2017.

The recent trouble started a week ago on May 25, when Bruns allegedly went to the house in the 300 block of Third Street about 7 a.m. and pushed his way past the woman when she answered his knock at the door, court records show. He found a man in her bedroom whom he punched, dragged off a bed and bit his ear twice, court records show.

Bruns is also accused of throwing a rock at the man’s head, which hurt his eye and cut his forehead.

Bruns allegedly went back to the house about 4:45 a.m. the next day, Saturday, and kicked open the front door. The other man ran from the house to get help, and the woman ran to her child.

Meanwhile, Bruns caused about $5,000 worth of damage to televisions, cellphones, tattoo equipment, clothes, furniture and mirrors, according to a criminal complaint.

He also allegedly broke out a window of the other man’s car.

Bruns was arrested Sunday. He faces two felony burglary charges — the most serious of which is punishable by up to 25 years in prison — and one for misdemeanor criminal mischief.

He is held in the Carroll County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
