Breda Telephone Corporation, also known as Western Iowa Networks, has entered into an agreement to acquire all the operating assets of Arcadia Telephone Cooperative and its wholly owned subsidiary, Monarc Technologies.

The acquisition is structured as an all-cash transaction and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2019, pending required regulatory and lender approvals and other conditions to closing. Following the acquisition, WIN is expected to construct fiber-to-the-home facilities in the Arcadia local exchange area, with a target for completing construction over the next three years. Additional details have not been released.

“Western Iowa Networks is a local company with a proven track record of providing exceptional service to customers in rural service areas like Arcadia and in competitive markets like Denison,” said Tony Vonnahme, president of Arcadia Telephone Cooperative. “We expect this transaction will benefit our members and customers, who can expect continued high levels of service and investment in their communities from WIN.”

Jeff Roiland, the chief executive officer of Breda Telephone Corporation, said the company looks forward to its new partnership as well as the ability to provide its services to new areas.

“Our company is excited about serving the Arcadia and the Denison area,” Roiland said. “We look forward to investing in and partnering with these communities, while providing the customers with top quality service for many years to come.”

The residents in these communities will soon be able to access a suite of services Western Iowa Network offers ranging from high speed broadband, digital TV and voice along with complementary services like managed Wi-Fi, managed information technology and numerous business communication services.
