The Carroll Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet will feature a new high-profile award on Feb. 6.
Having long bestowed a Citizen of the Year honor, a new business nod and a host of community service awards, the Chamber is launching the Young Professional of the Year award.
“I think it is important that this group is recognized for what they are doing,” said Rosanne Nees, chamber business and development director and a long-time advisor to the young professionals.
The award will recognize one of the 110-member Carroll Young Professionals, a growing collection of people aged 21 to 45 in the region.
The CYP steering committee and Chamber executive committee will make the decision on the honoree. Involvement in CYP and other community organizations is essential in determining the recipient, Nees said.
She said the Young Professionals group is becoming more active each year and plans to focus intently on Carroll’s low unemployment rate, and the issues associated with the labor pool.
Nominations may be submitted by Monday, Jan. 9 to: Carroll Young Professionals, P.O. Box 307, Carroll, Iowa 51401. Or by email to: email@example.com.
The annual Chamber of Commerce awards dinner is Monday, Feb. 6 at the Carrollton Centre beginning with social hour at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available through the Chamber at (712) 792-4383.
