The McDonald's in Carroll will be joining the fast-food-chain's addition of breakfast items to its late-night menu.

McDonald's "After Midnight" menu will offer a limited number of breakfast selections to the normal menu available at that time.

Late-night breakfast was supposed to go into effect June 5, said Krystal Hilsenbeck, the Carroll McDonald's manager, however, there was a hold-up in advertising that postponed the start date.

Hilsenbeck said she expected the new late-night (midnight to 4 a.m.) menu to begin sometime in July.

According to USA Today newspaper, the new menu will allow customers "to get not only Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, but also Egg McMuffins and hot cakes. Folks also will be able to mix and match from the two menus, say, hash browns with a Quarter Pounder or french fries with a Sausage McMuffin."

Many people who come in at night are on their way home from a night on the town, said Linda Schmitz, McDonald's employee.

"It won't change much, it'll be the same customer case. A lot of people ask for breakfast already," she said.
