Ruth Rotert, 83, died Wednesday, July 26, 2012, at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.  

Mass of the Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake City with burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Lake City.  Celebrant will be Father Lynn Bruch.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with a rosary at 4:30 at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.

Ruth Louise Rotert was born March 28, 1930, in Rogersville, Tenn., to Asa and Nancy (Vaughan) Pearson.  On Sept. 1, 1947, she married John Rotert at Auburn, Iowa. Ruth and John were foster parents to 129 children over 29 years.

Ruth is survived by her husband, John, of Lake City; children, Patricia (Larry) Kotz of Michigan, Michael of Lake City, Connie (John) Niedowicz of Lohrville and John of Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Asa (Cora) Pearson of Washington, T.J. (Audene) Pearson of Oklahoma, Alice Lindquist of Ida Grove and Nancy (Vince) Lensing of Illinois.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Rotert; and sister, Mary Pearson.
