1926-2012

Rose Mohr, 86, of Lake View, formerly of Auburn, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.  

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn, with the Rev. Craig Zandi officiating. Burial will be at Luckow Cemetery, rural Auburn.

The family will greet family and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View.

Rosemarie Olerich was born March 10, 1926, to Robert and Lydia (Johnson) Olerich in Auburn. She was baptized July 5, 1945, and confirmed her faith on July 15, 1945, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer.  Rose graduated from Auburn High School in 1943.

On March 16, 1947, Rose  married Alvin G. Mohr at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer. They were the proud parents of five children: Alan, Pamela, Gary, Patricia and Lynn.  Rose loved the farm life, working side by side with Alvin, while providing a loving and wonderful home for her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed working on puzzles, cooking family favorites, tending her garden and canning.  

Survivors include her children: Alan Mohr and fiancée Jan Moon of Melvin; Pamela (Steve) Renze of Carroll; Patricia (Ronald) Rothe of Denison; and Lynn (Lisa) Mohr of Auburn;  grandchildren: Samuel (Suzie) Starnes of Lytton, Ben (Stephanie) Renze of Lake View, Tricia (Dan) Buhrfiend of Chicago, Ill., Tracie (Dave) Doherty of Chicago, Ill,, Christina (Ben) Rich of Montgomery, Ill., Nicole (Adam) Loux of Indianola, Kayla Mohr of Norwalk, and Ashley Mohr of Indianola; 15 great-grandchildren: Blake (Ashley), Jenna and Ryle Starnes, Megan, Brian, and Madison Renze, Thomas and Elizabeth Buhrfiend, Anna, Michael and Joseph Doherty, Johnathan and Charlotte Rich, and Ethan and Erik Loux; great-great-granson Xander Starnes; her sister Pearl Stewart of Lake City; brother-in-law Leland Bruggeman of Lake City; and many extended family members.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin on Jan. 21, 2008; son Gary; and brothers: Gilbert, Maurice and Edward.
