Kylie Deane, daughter of Rick and Kristi (Maffett) Perrin, was born Aug. 28, 1990, in Ames, Iowa. She grew up in Ames and graduated from Gilbert High School in 2008. During her school years she enjoyed participating in dance, soccer, softball and volleyball, singing and playing the piano. Kylie then attended Iowa State for a short time before pursuing her passion of caring for children as a day care provider.

On Nov. 21, 2015, Kylie married Kyle Musfeldt in Clive, Iowa. The couple made their home near Coon Rapids. Kylie always wanted to be a mom and was blessed with a son, Colby, and a daughter, Hadley. Kylie provided day care in their home. Her empathy, ability to nurture and make everyone feel comfortable, made Kylie such a natural kid magnet that her day care had a long waiting list. To say that Kylie was a wonderful wife and mother would be an understatement. To so many people, she was “The Best.”

Kylie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She and Kyle enjoyed going to concerts. Kylie was incredibly funny and brought ownership and a vibrant essence of life to every room she entered, mirror she looked into, and camera she posed for. She was a very close and great supporter of her brother Ben at ballgames and other activities. Kylie always made him feel safe, even when she made him watch her play video games and sit through her tv shows. Kylie cared about life which is why people wanted to be with her. As a final gift to humanity, Kylie passed on the gift of life through tissue donation.

Kylie is survived by her husband, Kyle Musfeldt, of Coon Rapids; children Colby Perrin and Hadley Musfeldt at home; parents, Rick and Kristi Perrin, of Ames; brother, Ben Perrin, of Ames; grandparents Sue and Mack Maffett of Ames and Mary Shahan of Ames; Kyle’s parents, Kent and Jill Musfeldt, of Coon Rapids; sister-in-law Sara Roetman and husband Justin of Coon Rapids; and two nieces, Tenley and Kennedi.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, George Perrin and Roger Shahan.
