James "Jim" Moore, 75, of Little Elm, Texas, died at his home on April 14, 2012. Memorial services were held in 2012 in Little Elm.

A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden with the Rev. Brian Camara of First Presbyterian Church in Glidden officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Merle Hay Post of the American Legion of Glidden.

Born March 28, 1937, in Carroll, Iowa, he was a son of Cleo "Dinty" and Beulah (Davidson) Moore of Glidden. Jim grew up in Glidden and attended Glidden High School.

Jim served in the U.S. Army for almost 10 years. Following his military career he worked for the New Orleans Police Department for 16 years and retired in 1982. Jim then became an emergency medical technician in Zachary, La., where he worked several years. He also worked at the Martin Marietta Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Stennis Space Center in Mississippi and the New Orleans Fair Grounds.

Jim was a member of Button Memorial Methodist, and he was active in the Little Elm Cancer Care Group.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 21 years, Gay Moore, of Little Elm, Texas; daughters: Wanda Caplinger and her husband Kent of Garland, Texas, Nola Jones of Garland, Texas, Yvonne Thomas and her husband Shane of Lafayette, La., and Yvette Moore of Lafayette, La.; two sons: Jamie Moore of Picayune, Miss., and Brent Alexander of Little Elm, Texas; granddaughters: Caleigh Jones, Tierni Jones and Bella Burbante; a great-grandson Garrett Burbante; a brother William Moore and his wife Jaquie of Davenport, Iowa; a sister Carol d'Hapart of Wylie, Texas; an aunt Ruth Davidson of Glidden, Iowa; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marian Feld.
