Francis “Frank” C. Ausman died Thursday, July 12, 2012.

Vigil Mass was Tuesday, July 24, and memorial Mass was celebrated Wednesday, July 25, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Cypress, Calif., followed by graveside services at Forest Lawn in Cypress.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HOPE at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church at 5201 Evergreen Ave., Cypress, Calif.  90630 in honor of Frank Ausman.

Francis was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Carroll. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1951-53 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon his return, he then married and left Iowa a few years later with his young wife and son to settle in Orange County, Calif., for the past 55 years. Francis began his 30-year career at Hyster, in the shipping/receiving department and had risen to the rank of general manager when he retired in 1992.

He was a founding member of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Doris of almost 59 years; his two loving sons, Dan (Carolyn) and David (Lisa); his three grandsons, Michael (Heidi), Christopher, and Matthew; his great-grandson, Gavin; his sisters, Donna Lenz (Louis) of Carroll, and Betty Klein (Neil) of Omaha, Neb.; his brothers, Albert (Eunice) of Carroll and John (Jean) of Earling, Iowa. He is also survived by his beloved Father Patrick and his church family.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jim Ausman (Mary) of Carroll, and sister Linda Nielsen (Alfred) of Des Moines.
