Florence Marie Marsh, 87, of Scranton, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Greene County Long Term Care in Jefferson.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Church of Christ in Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating.  Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Organist for the service will be Laura McKnight, and soloist will be Ken Morlan.  Burial in Dillavou Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Rod Olerich, Mike Olerich, Scott Olerich, Rick Brant, Kevin Brant and Craig Carrick.  

Honorary casket bearers will be Jodi Jensen, Julie Hodges, Michelle Sandoval, Beth Buck, Ken Blinn and Aaron Blinn.  

Born Jan. 11, 1925, on her family’s farm north of Scranton, she was a daughter of Orrie A. and Esther L. (Hayes) Morlan. She attended Kendrick Township Country School, Scranton High School, and she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942.  Following high school Florence taught country school for two years. She married Dwight J. Marsh on May 26, 1944, in Carroll at the Methodist Church parsonage. The couple farmed and raised their family on Florence’s family farm north of Scranton. Florence was a lifelong member of Scranton Friends Church and the Friends Missionary. She served as president of the congregate meal site. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and her church life.

Surviving are her three daughters, Janice Grant and her husband Loran of Bakersfield, Calif., Marilyn Phillips and her husband David of Bakersfield, Calif., and Rhonda Olerich of Glidden; a son-in-law, Jim Hall, of Norwalk, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Carrick of Greenfield; sisters-in-law, Eloise Morlan of Cedar Falls and Rita Morlan of Scranton; a brother-in-law, Ed Marsh and his wife Grayce of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight, in 1984; a daughter, Jeanetta Hall, in 2009; three sisters, Emma Burdine, Mable Brobst and Virginia Morgan; and two brothers, Edward and Carl Morlan.
