Evelyne Lorraine Campbell, 83, of Scranton, died at her home Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Scranton Church of Christ with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating.  

Friends may call at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton after 5 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.  

The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 a.m. Thursday when visitation will resume.

Organist for the service will be Laura McKnight.  

Burial will be at Scranton Township Cemetery.  

Casket bearers will be Tim Pickel, Michael Clarker, Doug Majerus, Jr. Stanek, Andrew Majerus and Chae Malone. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born July 28, 1929, at Chariton, Iowa, she was a daughter of Burley and Pearlie (Patterson) Casteel.  She grew up in Chariton where she attended school.  

Evelyne married Thomas Edward Campbell Sr. on Nov. 27, 1947, at Bethel Church in Russell, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Churdan and moved to Scranton in 1974.  Evelyne loved spending time with her grandkids and relatives, reading, and watching westerns on television.

Evelyne is survived by two sons: Zachary Campbell and his wife Diane of Maple River, and Thomas Campbell of Ross, Iowa; 10 grandchildren: Danielle, Zacharina, Shaleena, Mignon, Kay Ann, Tasha, Christopher, John, Alyssa and Amber; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister Barbara Wolf and her husband Dean of Scranton; a brother Ross Casteel and his wife Alice of Yale, Iowa; a sister-in-law Darlene Campbell of Spencer; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Evelyne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Thomas Edward, in 2003, a daughter Melody Malone, in 2007, two great-grandsons: David and Tucker, a great-granddaughter Blaire; a sister Margarette; and two brothers: Tommy and Michael Casteel.
